Egg irons were produced to iron the inside ofsleeves and such like and were more common in France but do not appear to havebeen popular in the UK as I can only find them in two British catalogues (oneof those their French version). They were often used with a base stand but none is included in this listing.The larger one of these three is approx. 4inches(100 mm) across and is 14 inches in length (355mm) and has the name Granger-Marcel engraved in the metal handle. The other 2 are appro...x. 2 inches (50mm) across and the handles 12 and 11 inches (300 and 280 mm) long.They display no pitting but on one of thesmaller ones the casting has a few imperfections. The handles are wood on two and one has some woodworm but it has been treated, the larger ones handle is cast.These irons were originally for sale inPortobello Road Antique market at over £150 and are now becoming hard to findso a good chance to add to your collection at a very good price.International buyers welcome, please request postage costs for your country.Thanks for looking and please look at my other interestingirons for sale.
