Flown heat shield ablator fragment removed from the Apollo 8 spacecraft, approximately measuring 2 x .25 x .5, encased in a capsule-shaped 3.75 x 3.25 x 1.75 piece of Lucite with reverse bearing: "Apollo 10 - LunarVoyage :CSM / LM Lunar Rendezvous : The FinalMan-Machine Flight Test Before Man Lands On The Moon : May 18, 1969Thru May 26, 1969 : 31 Orbits Around The Moon : Temp. Of H/S Ablator4200 degrees F : Reentry Speed 24, 760 M.P.H."This is an amazing and rare piece of Space Race hi...story as there are few of these known to exist. Piece is in very good condition barring some small chips at apex.
