Original Description:
Up for sale is this old primitive antique staved wooden firkin or early sugar bucket with a lid, bentwood, pegged swing handle, wooden bands with copper nails and an iron bottom band.  It measures 9 3/4" tall.  The top is 9 1/2" in diameter and the bottom is about 10".  This primitive piece is a medium wood tone with dry, attic patina and a few traces of old green paint showing.  It presents in very good condition with some darkening of the wood at the bottom which ...enhances the character of the piece.  There is a very small chip of wood missing on the lid and the bottom has a darker finish.  This firkin displays very well and will make a nice addition to your collection of primitives.
