Original Description:
Seldom encountered Spanish-American War period United States Army infantry officer's medium blue wool trousers named and dated.  Scarce in this condition.  Tailored by Brooks Brothers in New Your for a 2nd Lt. in the 23rd Regt, and dated 1899.  No mothing, but there is cloth facing damage near the top button of the fly. Measures 33" x 32". THIS IS NOT A FAKE! The pants have been checked and verified as original to the time by two large museums. This officer's frock coat ...for sale on another auction.  Minor fraying on inside back pocket otherwise EXC.
