VERY FINE Stanley No.66 Hand Beader - 100% COMPLETE!GUARANTEED 100% complete with both fences and all 8 of the originally supplied irons. An OUTSTANDING EXAMPLE in SUPER FINE CONDITION! Nickel Plating is 95% intact and there is a nice dark patina on the blades. "Stanley, No 66 Pat'd Feb. 9, 86" is cast into the top side of the frame. Save for some scuffing on the sole, there is little sign of use. One or two of the irons may have been honed but n...one of the profiles has been altered. The patent date along with the (faint) "B" casting mark on the frame and one of the fences probably date this example to around 1900 or just a little later.Stanley cataloged the No. 66 "Universal Beader" as being "For beading, reeding or fluting straight or irregular surfaces - also adapted for light routing." Noting that there are two fences - "one for straight and the other for curved work" John Walter, in his Stanley Tools Guide, calls the No. 66 "A fantastic tool to do scratch bead and reed decorations on straight and curved forms. The real advantage of this tool is that you can cut up old band or hack saw blades and make any shape cutter you desire and get great results." Here is a VERY FINE example of this fabulous old tool.
