South Korean 8 Panel Decorative Screen 1979-80
This was given to me in 1979 or 1980 by a Korean friend who was a very recent immigrant to America at the time. The screen may be slightly older. It measures 9 1/2 x 28 1/2 inches (24 x 52.5 cm) fully extended and has 8 panels. Each panel is 9 1/2 x 3 5/8 inches (24 x 9 cm). It appears to be made of heavy cardboard or wood and is covered with cloth-like paper in back and printed paper in front. ...; The Korean writing on the back is printed on paper. The center illustrations are printed in color, not embroidered. There is some wear showing along some of the edges. The panels are very clean with little or no fading evident. Kept in smoke free home away from light.
