1969 Grumman/NASA L.E.M. (Lunar Excursion Module) Executive Desk Model. The models were given to the Grumman engineering staff who worked on the L.E.M. program.Overall condition is above average to Excellent. Base has some slight scratches. White color is somewhat faded due to age. One Radar dish has slight chips on bottom edge. One antenna is missing.With the detachable base the model is about 10 1/2 inches wide by about 6 Inches tall. Black Plexiglass type base with Grumman & NAS...A logos has soft green felt bottom.This is an almost 50 yr old piece of history from the US Space Exploration Program. The Model is a replica of the actual space vehicle flown during the Apollo 11 Expedition that landed the first men on the moon. Commander Neil Armstrong and lunar module pilot Buzz Aldrin, landed the Apollo Lunar Module Eagle on July 20, 1969, at 20:17 UTC.
