This tool chest has 11 drawers, and I think it may be from the 40s or so, though I'm definitely not an expert. The wood of the drawers is in very good condition and has a nice-looking wood grain, and all of them slide smoothly except the center one, which sticks just a bit. There's an H. Gerstner & Sons label inside the top, and the name is also engraved on the clasp. There was originally a small rectangle of peach paper tucked in the cover that had a price list of some things to o...rder from the manufacturer, but I'm not sure where that went. I remember that it looked very old and everything on the list was a dollar or two.
The felt lining is somewhat dirty looking, and the leatherette covering is peeling off in some places, mainly in the right corner. The front flap is a bit of a tight fit to open or close. If you look at the 9th picture, there's one seam on the front flap where the wood has a slight flex--it's possible it could use a few drops of glue to fit more snugly together there. Other than that, it seems to be in good shape. I took a few more close-up pictures of things like the handle that wouldn't fit in this listing, so if you want me to send them to you, just send me a message.
