RARE FLIGHT NASA Kennedy Space Center Space Shuttle Orbiter Astronaut Panel Switch with Pull to Latch and Hold action.
A single throw, four pole device.
This artifact was originally purchased at a KSC Auction at their Ransom Road Facility.
It has an original acquisition cost of around $5000.
NASA designed this switch to the highest MANNED RATED SPACEFLIGHT standards and it was specifically constructed for the Space Shuttle Orbiter.
Arguably the most sophisticated a...nd reliable toggle switch ever built.
Gold and Silver Alloys were used in it's construction.
Completely Hermetic with Electron Beam welded and Gold Braze Ceramic Alloy seals.
The etched nomenclature reads:
