A beautiful necklace in a design which has been around for centuries and will never date. It is decorated glowing old cut glass paste crystals with pointy backs. They are app 5 mm so you wonder how they cut these so finely. They are a vivid red, which even the khaki Caernarfon sky cannot dull, being open set in little individual collet settings the light can make the most of the colour and cut. The collets are quite deep to protec...t the tips of the glass. The prong settings keep them nice and safe and they and expertly linked so they don't snarl up. The necklace is completed with an old trace chain which fastens with a secure ring bolt clasp. When i was a pukka antique dealer one of the areas i specialised in was art nouveau and art deco glass and my research indicated that gold was used in the production of earlier glass, looking at these i can well believe it. i have photographed it with flash (for clarity so you can see the condition) andthis brings out golden lights and also without which shows the quality and depth of the glass. In real life the colour is more vivid that the images without flash (khaki sky maybe).
App 15 inches long including the clasp. This is a VERY SMALL size so please measure carefully before buying or consider adding a few jump rings which are available easily and reasonably online. Examined closely the original silvering on the lovely old brass is fading here and there but.

A bit about me : i worked for many years in the Antiques Trade specialising first in antique clothing and Textiles and then i specialised in Art Deco and Art Nouveau, generally glass and sculpture and metal ware. i stood at many of the top fairs eg Olympia, Claridges, The Dorchester, The NEC and bought and sold in Sothebys, Christies and Bonhams. i appeared on TV a few times as an Expert, served on Vetting Committees and so on. i gave up the Material World for a number of years whilst i concentrated on Meditation, Healing and other Spiritual endeavours but am now selling on Ebay to pay the rent :-) i really do love the pieces that pass through my hands and i enjoy 'meeting' people across the globe and feel good making them feel good. i try to follow the Reiki precepts ~ one of which is 'To earn an honest living'.
