The shade on the left is marked "THE ANGLE LAMP CO NY" on one side and "NO UNDERSHADOW" on the other. Also marked PAT NOV 6 98. It's hard to read, but I believe thatis the date. The other shade does not have any markings. The large opening on bothis 5 7/8" (inside) and the small is 3 18".
