These are black porcelain salt and pepper shakers circa 1950 They were probably made for Wedgwood stoves. The "S" and the "P" on each shaker is done in a very Art Deco font. The base of the shakers measure 1 7/8" wide by 1 3/4" deep. They are 3 3/4" tall. Black salt and pepper shakers from this era are very difficult to find and fetch more than the white versions. These shakers were originally made to sit on each side of the clo...ck located on the top of the stove, but obviously would look appealing placed almost anywhere.
