Original circa 1880s photo of Native AMERICAN INDIANS possibly Apache, Arapaho or Shoshoni.This is an original cabinet card photograph from the 1880s showing Native American Indians with tradional Indian blankets draped over their shoulders. There are four adults with one small child and because of the similar hairstyles of each of the adults, it's hard to tell which of them are men and which are women.The back of the slightly oversized 4½" x 7" cabinet card (they were more comm...only 4¼" x 6½") is stamped "Baker & Johnston Photos" with a handwritten "No. 6." In the 1880s, Baker & Johnston had a photographic studio in Evanston, Wyoming very near the Utah border where they were known to have photographed the Apache, Arapaho and Shoshoni tribes as well as Sioux, Cheyenne and Crow. I'm not an Indian expert and can't positively identify which tribe they're from simply by their blankets. If someone else can, please email me and let me know.The orange-mount cabinet card is in excellent condition with great tones with only a very tiny unnoticeable split in the surface in the middle of the left edge.
