STANLEY 10 1/2 CARRIAGE MAKERS RABBET PLANE TYPE 1 WITH ADJUSTABLE SOLE.
Sole adjusts with a light turn of the front knob. Picture 1 shows plane with throat fully closed. Picture 2 shows fully open. Rear tote and beaded front knob in great condition, with no defects in the original wood, which could be refinished beautifully. In fact the whole plane is a great candidate for a full cleaning/restoration. You will rarely see a tote this old with no chips on the tail end. There is a sma...ll ding on the right side of the body, but otherwise no issues. The brass adjusting screw operates smoothly and is excellent. Cutter is long and fairly sharp, needs just a final honing. The trademark on the cutter says:STANLEYRULE AND LEVEL CO.NEW BRITAIN, CONNUSAWhich indicates that the plane dates from 1907 to 1909.
