Description: The item up for bids is a fine and rare circa 1930 art deco S. Fielding & Co. Crown Devon pen holder base retailed the ParkerPen Company. It is in the gorgeous No. 2115 'Orient' pattern. Thedesign is rendered in shocking chartreuse green, bright orange, inkyblack, and thick lustrous gilding. The design is hand-painted andexecuted with precision. The base has a six-sided coffin form withtapered stepped sides and a scooped out tray section. It is wellmade and is heavy fo...r its size. It is signed on the base with theCrown Devon crown mark, Made in England, Trade Mark, 2119, and thereis a Parker label on the back edge. It's a fabulous piece oforiginal English art deco design, have some fun and bid!Condition: The condition is good to very good antique. I do not have the penreceiver socket, the auction is for the base alone. There are nochips, cracks, or repairs. The surface shows moderate ageappropriate handling wear with scattered scratches. The painted details are in lovelycondition with excellent color. There is minor wear and rubbing tothe gold trim. There is old dried glue residue on the base, possibly froma felt pad. The pictures are the best indicator as to condition, please use the zoom feature and check them out.Dimensions:It's about 4-1/4” wide by 4” long, and about 1” thick. Thebase is about 4-1/2” wide by 3-1/2” deep.
