The Bay State Street Railway Co. was a streetcar and bus line which served eastern Massachusetts neighborhoods around Boston in the early 20th century before it was acquired by the Eastern Massachusetts Street Railway in 1919 and finally by the Massachusetts Bay Transportation Authority in 1968, which continues to operate some of the original lines today. The tickets read "Wallace B. Donham Receiver for..."; this might ref...er to the Wallace Brett Donham (1877-1954) who was working as vice-president of the Old Colony Trust Company from 1906-1919 and suggest a link between the bank and the railway during the railway's accession in 1919. The same Wallce Donham was named Harvard Business School's second dean shortly thereafter.
