1940'S Vintage Black Americana Fishing Lure OCCUPIED JAPAN Lucky Lure ON CARD. This original, hand painted, celluloid, carp, fishing lure was made by Itchy Novelty Company and manufactured between 1945 and 1952. This little Black Americana water boy's body is 1 1/4" wide, 1 3/4" tall and 5/8" thick not counting the non-rusted hook. The card is 6 1/2" wide and 4 1/4" tall as it lays. Unsure how this card can be warped and faded though the hook looks new, the hand painting i...s not faded or dull and the adhered sheet on the back has no damage, you be the judge. This souvenir was purchased at Indian Lake, Ohio. This water boy which is secured with a wire around it's neck and the top and bottom of the hook has NO chips, cracks or any odors. There are a few mars on his right chest coat from being moved around and stored for the last 70 years, give or take. As my last picture shows, this card was originally 2 cardboard cards and still is as it is wired together. You are buying this lure as found, I did not clean it in any way.
