Scarce and charming antique dollhouse settee or sofa, made by J & E Stevens Co., Cromwell, Connecticut, 19th century, cast iron realistically molded and painted in deep red/wine and black to imitate tufted upholstery, the back with boldly scrolled crest and inverted-heart-shaped center, approx. 6-1/2" wide by 3-7/8" tall overall. A few scattered small losses to paint (mainly to back; easily 95% plus paint retention); and a small spur-shaped molding flaw to one front leg (evidently ...an "extra" bit of metal in the mold that escaped finishing), otherwise fine, attractive condition, with rich, pleasing untouched patina.A handsome example from this famed toy company best known for its mechanical banks.PAYMENT/SHIPPING: Successful U.S. bidder pays for carefully packed Parcel Select shipping (international bidders: inquire for rates); PayPal.
