An antique watercolor set. Also included is a primitive handmade brush that was inside the box. The paper label inside the box reads "Osborne's American Toy Water Colours. - Manufactured and sold at Bullock's and Crenshaw's Drug and Chemical Store, Northeast Corner of Arch and Sixth Streets, Philada." A quick search reveals that Bullock and Crenshaw moved from that location in 1868 so this set dates from sometime before that. The box with sliding lid measures ap...proximately 3 1/8" by 5 1/4" by 7/8". Three of the water color cakes are missing and the remaining are soiled and show surface deterioration. The labels are stained and soiled and the box is stained and has surface imperfections. Please look carefully at the attached images which give an accurate impression of the cosmetic condition of the item.
