Harmon Kardon Vintage ISub 2000 Subwoofer Speaker W/ Power Supply T2321LL/A
Item History & Price
Harmon Kardon iSub 2000 Subwoofer Speaker for iMac w/ Power Supply T2321LL/A.
This is a striking addition to your system, especially when paired with one of the iMac computers, which were the major shakeup in computer design for the decade. But the speaker in that model was a Harmon-Kardon speaker, so compatibility was built in. See the Apple web discussion of this thread: https://discussions.apple.com/thread/415742 The iSub is no longer supported by Apple, it seems... it ceased with the switch to Intel processors. There is a software patch at Macinosh Repository web site that works on PowerPC Macs, pre-Intel processors through Leopard. Go to https://www.macintoshrepository.org/17225-isub-leopard-fixto view about this option.
I finally disposed of my PowerPC iMac G5, 2004 model, so I cannot test that the subwoofer is working, but it was working perfectly when last used that computer.
Harmon Kardon still makes the product, bundled with the SoundSticks, including a wireless configuration. More info can be had at: http://www.eggnoodlesoup.com/harman/html/hfaq_isub.html#eI am sure the drivers for those products will likely NOT work for the iSub 2000
This subwoofer I had paired with Bose Companion external speakers, and everything was flawless. The iSub connected to a standard USB port, and needed no specific configuration. If you have a vintage Macintosh, it should work fine, but query first with Apple Support community for your model. The HK web site said: "The iSub has a USB connection and is configured to work only with Apple's 350 MHz and iMac DV models."
If you know that it works with your computer, you should be good to go. I cannot accept returns, so check the compatibility
Condition is Used. Shipped with USPS Parcel Select Ground.
