Original Description:
This is an attractive 18th Century Dutch brass tobacco box.  It has decorative naive engravings on the lid and on the base of the box and to the sides, with some Dutch script on the lid.  The box makes an attractive display item as well as being collectable.  The box is in good condition for its age. Although complete and working, the hinge needs a solder repair (see photographs), and the engravings are rubbed as can be expected of an item some 250 years old.

It has been sitting around in a drawer for 40 years so time for it to go to someone who will appreciate it.
