This adorable baby girl is ready for a new mama. She is Effanbee’s 1953 “Cuddle Up.” This is a really special 21” baby doll. She’s ready to make the move from my doll room to yours.
Cuddle Up is just precious in her vintage size 10 mos. ensemble. The clothes are just darling. You’ll get a rosebud embroidered dress, matching bonnet, booties, and diaper cover. The dress has nice elastic and no stains or tears. It has been re-hemmed. The ribbon trimmed booties have been tak...en in at the toe to fit this doll. The tags on these clothes are clean and crisp as if the outfit was worn only once or twice. The brand is “Alexis.”
Cuddle Up is shown in Patricia Smith’s Effanbee reference book (photo). The book says she has a “vinyl head and limbs and vinyl coated, kapok filled body.” Her little rosebud lips show two front teeth. Her right hand is curved into an “I love you sign.” I’m not sure that is intentional, but it is special. This little girl has nice dark blonde hair. She’s clean. Her vinyl fabric body is crackled (photo). She has darling diaper cover panties with ruffles all around (photo). The vinyl fabric does show on her legs, past her panties.This doll is clean and display-ready. She is imperfect, because she was a beloved playdoll almost 70 years ago. Her stuffing is a bit compressed at the neck. But her blue sleep eyes are beautiful and she is just a cheery vintage doll. It is fun to have a doll who is just the right size for real baby clothes.
