Selling an antique Disston 26" hand saw, D8, 5.5 point, with Beech wood handle, made between 1947 and 1953. Saw blade is straight, free of rust, but has blackened over time. The teeth are all present, intact and appear sharp. All nuts and the Disston medallion are present. Handle is in excellent condition. There is a red sticker on the handle stating "The Worthington Co." I assume that this company sold the saw at some point.
There is a lot of writing that is visible and etched on ...the blade. The writing in the middle of blade states Henry Disston & Sons, established 1840 and the center of this writing contains a set of scales and D8-see photo. To the right of this writing is info regarding the US Patent Office. To the right of this etching is writing about the quality of the saw and signed by Henry Disston-see photo. There is a number 5 1/2 etched into the blade, just under the handle-see photo. On the flip side, someone appears to have lightly etched a name on the blade, "Karas".
