You are bidding on a goo...d example of an unusual vintage and quite rare14", 2" Iron Smaller School Jack Plane by A MATHIESON, Glasgow in as shown bright clean refurbished used condition.The 2" iron, marked WILFIN (GILPIN??) is original with a cap iron by WARD, honed and polished on my Tormek & Creusen wheels so good and sharp. Tote is good as shown.
Nice brass strike button as shown.
Good makers marks to the toe as shown. Also marks of NCC 19, almost certainly plane No:19 in a local council school woodwork shop.
The cleaned and polished beech body has had no repairs and woodwork is in good bright clean shape as shown, weighs 1.5kg before safe packing. Good rare, collectable and useable plane.
USA buyers please note that as of 1st July 2020 Royal Mail has increased Airmail Small Parcel shipping costs to the USA by approximately 50%
as US POST has drastically increased the "last mile" postal costs for foreign mail.
