( There is a small Piece of the Paper missing on the lower left side. This Does Not Hinder the Print or Detract from the Rarity of this Southern Antebellum Desirable Collectable.THE PORTRAIT :Though somewhat Dark, the Imagery is CLEAR, DETAILED & INCREDIBLE. The House "Mammie" with "Do Rag" Head Attire is Clearly Visible looking down Loverly Cradling the Infant Child. Her Face & Upper Body are Easily Seen ( Which is EXCEPTIONALLY RARE due to the fact that : A-She's a SLAVE. B-Most "Hidden Mother" Portraits are Exactly That. The Mother is hidden, Generally under a Blanket, steadily Calming the Child to be VERY STILL while the Portrait was Produced....) The Upper Gentry Toddler is Well Dressed in Beautiful Southern Finery. The Silk Ribbon in her hair is Precious. The Lining of her Frock Coat is Embroidered with Gold Silk Trim. Her face is Angelic & She Radiates Innocence. Within 10 years, everything that she Knows and is Accustomed to will be GONE as well as her Innocence. The Price the Antebellum Slave Holding Class would Pay would be the Destruction of their Homes, Property, Valuables, Towns, Cities ( Such as Charleston, Atlanta, Richmond & Montgomery....+ So many more, large and small ) The WRATH of the Federal Forces under General Sherman, Grant & Sheridan would see to that. "War is All Hell" and so it was to the Antebellum Gentry.SHIPPING INCLUDES TRACKING AND INSURANCE. SIGNATURE CONFORMATION REQUIRED.
