Brandon Linder is a center for the Jacksonville Jaguars of the National Football League. Linder was selected 93rd overall in the third round of the 2014 NFL Draft by the Jacksonville Jaguars. Linder is the first player from the University of Miami ever drafted by the Jacksonville Jaguars and the 24th offensive lineman drafted by the Jaguars in franchise history. Linder attended St Thomas Aquinas High School in FL and was named first-team All-Broward by Sun-Sentinel and the Miami Herald. The dominant lineman led St. Thomas Aquinas to a 28-1 record in his last two seasons and a Class 5A state title in 2008 and a No. 1 national ranking in 2009 while the offense averaged 321 yards per game.
Linder started all 12 games at right guard in 2012 for the Miami Hurricanes. The talented guard earned a letter and anchored an O-line that paved the way for third-best passing offense (295.4) and fifth-best total offense (440.2) in ACC. With his stellar play, Linder was named a Third-team All-ACC selection by Phil Steele and Earned All-ACC honorable mention from ACSMA and league coaches.
In 2013 for the Canes, Linder started all 13 games along offensive line. The versatile lineman made 10 starts at right guard and three starts at right tackle and was a Second-team All-ACC selection by ACSMA, league’s head coaches and Athlon Sports. Linder was one of three Hurricanes invited to participate in the Senior Bowl and helped anchor an offensive line that paved the way for a Hurricanes offense that averaged 425.8 yards of total offense and 33.8 points per game. His efforts and contribution led him to being named Offensive MVP at the end-of-season team awards show. Linder was also named to the 2013 Outland Trophy watch list, an award presented to the nation’s best interior lineman.
The former Hurricane had a tremendous rookie season starting 15 games at RG for the Jacksonville Jaguars. Linder helped pave the way on 10/19 vs. CLE for an offense that rushed for a season-high 185 yards on 35 carries and 176 yards on 10/26 vs. MIA, the first time since 2010 the Jaguars had eclipsed 150-plus rushing yards in back-to-back games. He was an integral part of an offensive line that helped the Jaguars finish sixth in the NFL in average per rush (4.5)
In 2016, the Jaguars moved Linder to center, where he started 14 games. Linder performed exceptionally at the center position, with Pro Football Focus ranking him as the 3rd best center that year. He allowed 12 total QB pressures, despite pass blocking for almost 500 snaps. He was only flagged twice, and was the league’s fourth-best run-blocking grade at the position, with a mark of 83.9.
On July 25, 2017, Linder signed a five-year, $51.7 million extension with the Jaguars, making him the highest paid center in league history. Linder started 13 games at center for the Jaguars in 2017, missing three games due to an illness.
In 2018, Linder started the first nine games at center before suffering a season-ending knee injury in Week 10. He was placed on injured reserve on November 13, 2018.
In 2019, Linder started all 16 games at Center for the Jaguars and was part of an offensive line that helped RB Leonard Fournette gain 1, 674 yards from scrimmage. Fournette became the only Jaguars player since 2011 to post at least 1, 500 scrimmage yards in a single season.
