This listing is for a vintage metal wall thermometer advertising Packard Motor Cars .It is 27" tall and * 1/4" wide and shows temperatures ranging from -25 degrees F to +120 degrees F. It has a few scratches and paint dings consistent with age but no cracks, dents, or bends. It works correctly and the colors and graphics are still bright and vibrant. There are two Packard Crests with the upper one showing the companies slogan "Ask The Man Who Owns One". At the bottom is a p...icture of what I think is a 1929 Packard 633 Sedan. It is labeled "Made in U.S.A.".Packards were luxury automobiles first manufactured in 1899 in Detroit, Michigan. The last Detroit built Packard was made in 1956. Packard bought Studebaker in 1953 and formed the Studebaker - Packard Corporation of South Bend, Indiana. The 1957 and 1958 Packards were actually badge engineered Studebakers made in South Bend. Studebaker - Packard pulled the Packard nameplate from the marketplace in 1959 and in 1962 "Packard' was dropped from the corporations name. This piece would make a good addition to a thermometer collection, automobilia collection, or a Packard collection. It could also be a great addition to a garage, shop, or man cave.
