This Velbon VE-3 metal tripod is professional grade. Metal hip and head, very little plastic to break. Quick flip logs on legs to extend and retract. Tracks allow for fast, smooth and secure movement of extensions. Fine adjustment non-slip rubber covered pointed screw tips on the ends of the legs. Plastic star knob to tighten telescoping center rod. Each three section leg is independent so the length and angle of each leg can be set differently. ...; Plastic star knob on head to tighten swivel and tilting of platform. Extended handle can also be used to tighten platform up and down movement. Smaller plastic knob tightens platform side to side tilt. Metal locking nut or metal thumb screw tighten stud that attached device (camera, light or speaker) to tripod. Maximum height 49", lowest 22". Center shaft can be inverted so that the shortest distance from ground to platform is 1". Head can pan, tilt and rotate. Weight is almost 5 pounds, closed width is 5", and closed length is 24".
