Vintage Pair Of Porcelain Classical Greek Roman Warrior Gladiator Cameo Wall Plaques

Handsome pair of round wall plaques with profile bust portraits of Ancient Greek or Roman Warriors / Gladiators

The portraits and the round frames are porcelain, while the black background is a velour type fabric.

Approximately 7 ¾ inches in diameter, and 1 inch thick at the outer rim

Condition:  No chips or cracks.  Has very fine age crazing of the glaze that... can be seen on very close examination - the flash in the pictures usually magnifies the effect.  Some light age spots in the porcelain frames.  Paper backing torn.  Please see our photos; they are part of the description.

The only marks I can find look like “23 / 34 /” stamped in red ink on the paper backing.

I’d guess these were probably made in Italy, midcentury.

Approximate Weight:  1 lb., 11 oz.
