For sale is a Meyer Optik Görlitz Primoplan 58mm f/1.9 in the M42 screw mount. It is a manual focus lens. It also has a manual aperture control system (does not have an automatic aperture diaphragm like modern lenses)
What you see in the pictures is what is included in the ...listing. The lens does not come with any caps. I will carefully package it for shipping to prevent any damage in transit.
This is compatible with the Contax S and D model early screw mount SLR cameras and the successor Pentacon and Praktica models. The M42 was also used in some Pentax SLR cameras and other cameras. There are also many adapters available to use M42 lenses with various mirrorless digital cameras. Please consult technical information available online to determine how this lens would work with your specific camera.
The focus and aperture rings have the plain "coin edge" (not scalloped).
This is a small, lightweight compact lens weighing only 4 ounces.
If you are obsessed with having a 100% "perfect" lens, then this is not the one for you. This is a well-loved lens that is looking for a good home to provide needed TLC.
The aluminum barrel show signs of corrosion and would need to be cleaned or restored. I have not attempted restoration to prevent accidental damage.
As with lenses of this vintage, there is internal and external dust, debris, haze and other imperfections. If you are worried about any types of marks on or in the glass, please assume this has it. Please assume the lens is to be cleaned or "CLA'd." I have taken many pictures to try to accentuate the imperfections in the interest of full disclosure.
The focus ring moves freely, but feels "dry." The focus helicoid would need to be lubricated. The aperture ring moves freely and smoothly. There appears to be oil on the aperture blades. The aperture blades would require cleaning.
I procured this lens for a specific project that I never completed. Let my loss be your gain! I hope it goes to a good home!
I have tried to describe everything as accurately as I could and to the best of my ability. If you have any questions, please send me a message. I will respond promptly.
As with all my listings, I am offering this item in AS-IS condition. I provide no warranties, explicit or implied. I do not accept returns.
