The long-running Mamiya interchangeable lens twin lens reflex C-series (C2, C3, C33, C22, C330, C220, C330f, C220f, C330s) ran from the late 1950s through 1994. Before Mamiya, there had been a few abortive TLRs with interchangeable lenses (Rex Reflex, Koni-Omegaflex), but Mamiya really ran with the concept. The cameras quickly became a favorite of commercial and advanced amateur photographers, offering greater versatility than the Rolleiflex at far less cost than a Hasselblad. The came...ra in this listing (serial #D 126967) is in near-mint condition, fully functional, and all controls operate smoothly. The waist-level finder hood with magnifier snaps open smartly, revealing a crystal-clear focusing screen. The 80mm f/2.8 Blue Dot lens (serial ##886425 [taking], 887165 [viewing]) is clean and clear, with no fog, fungus, scratches or cleaning marks, and the Seiko shutter speeds are spot-on. One of the neatest things about the Mamiya C-series cameras is that they operate almost like miniature view cameras - they provide bellows focusing (and the bellows in this camera are light-tight and in perfect condition) and manually set f-stops and shutter speeds. This is a camera for someone who wants to get into medium format film photography without breaking the bank or needs a back-up body for another C-series camera.
