This is a sound working example that has seen some use. There is some wear to the black finish apparent at the corners of the case which I have tried to show in the photos. The lens is in excellent condition and has always been protected by a screw-on daylight filter. (A small flake of paint has come off the lens surround visible in picture at about 9 o'clock position).
This was a top quality 35 mm camera in its day with an outstanding lens. It was notable for being one of the first... SLRs to incorporate a really compact and effective motor drive. The motor drive on this example works smoothly and reliably.
The controls for focus, aperture and exposure time all appear to be working well although it has not been measured on test equipment. I have owned this camera from new and believe it to be an honest example which is very suitable for practical photography with 35 mm film.
The camera uses four AA size alkaline batteries (not supplied). The leathers have been replaced with new items. The lens cap does not read 'Contax' so may not be original. Strap has wear to the leathers but is otherwise strong and functional..
