Up for sale are six Super 8 b&w films, both silent andwith mag sound, all mounted on 600-foot reels in hard plastic cases, plenty of white leader on each, no vinegar odor. Unless noted all films havenear mint images.
1. “Why Worry” starring Harold Lloyd on two reels. This silent film be...gins with clips of Lloyd (as I’ve seen on other reels)followed by the opening of the feature with theater credits. The first reellooks like it has a second film about halfway through, but that’s probably justmore of the main feature. Reel #1 has just under 600 feet of film. Reel #2 hasabout 500 feet. It looks like Reel #2 has a different film after about 100feet, but I spun it out to check and it’s a continuation of “Why Worry.” Thefirst part ends in black, then a factory splice, followed by black leading toanother scene (a beautiful – and super clean – shot of a woman in a sombrero). So the total for this film is about 1100 feet.2. “His Royal Slyness” starring Harold Lloyd. About400 feet in length. This film begins in black followed by theater credits.According to the case, this reel ends with a cartoon running about 100 feet. Itappears to be in b&w. I didn’t spin it out so the cartoon is a mystery.3. “All Aboard” starring Harold Lloyd. About 100 feetin length. The film starts in black with a fade-in to the Blackhawk Filmstitle. According to the case, there are two more films on this reel, and indeedI can see that there are. The second film might be “Non-Stop Kid” (HaroldLloyd) coming in at around 200 feet, followed by “Two-Gun Gussie” (HaroldLloyd) at around 175 feet. Without spinning it out, I have no doubt those arethe two other films on the reel.4. “Do It Yourself” starring Laurel and Hardy, about400 feet. The film begins in black with a fade-in to the Blackhawk Films title. On the case it reads “Blockheads” so I’ll assume the other title isrepresentative of the abridged version.
