For Whom The Bell Tolls By Ernest Hemingway (1940) 1st Edition / 2nd Issue
Item History & Price
According to my research, this is a 1st edition, but not a 1st printing. It is a second issue. It does not have the "A" on the copyright page. And the back of the dustcover has a photo credit under Hemingway's photo.
The dust jacket has wear and spotting as pictured and it has been price-clipped It does have a mylar cover on it to help protect it from further damage. The boards have spotting. The first pastedown has evidence of writing that the former o...wner attempted to remove. There's a note on the first flyleaf, too. The top portion of the last flyleaf has been ripped off. The very ends of the pages have some dark spots. The pages are tanned. The pages are otherwise free and clear of writing and the binding is tight. Please see my photos.
