For your consideration a very nice Parker 51 dated ".2." which stands for second quarter of 1942.
It's has a gold filled cap, with converging line - 4 lines a space then 4 lines
The pen retains its consistent unmarked nib since Parker was not to engrave nibs before the early months of 1943.
Nib is a fine grade a bit stiff but delivering a regular stroke. The filling system sucks plenty of ink and it's operational as long as I can tell. The only issue is the connecter whi...ch is a bit loose at the junction with the barrel. As a result the pen tends to leak near lower part of the clutch ring. In addition the pen may need a new diaphragm; I don't have the required instruments to verify its condition.
It needs repair justifying a lower price for a relatively rare pen.
The cap has a few dings but barely noticeable However I've got to signal them.
I illustrated the description with some black and white photographis to further bring out the inscription which are crisp and still readable.
A good pen and a great opportunity for any collector.
Any question ? Feel free to ask. Questions never go unanswered.
Thank you for your attention
