Spyderco C15PS Robert Terzuola Collaboration — ULTRA RARE Left Hand Model

The Spyderco C15 was a real first for the company: their first liner lock, their first knife made in the U.S., and their first collaboration with a custom knife maker — Bob Terzuola. Collectors consider it to be one of the most desirable Spyderco models.
From what I could find on spyderwiki.com, this particular knife is from the second production run between 1990 and 1993. It features the combination blade (the blade has both a Spyder Edge and a plain edge section). The ...frame is 6061-T6 aluminum, bead blasted and black anodized. The blade is ATS-34.
This example is the very rare left-hand version. According to the literature I could find, it was available only as a special order from Spyderco. Apparently they’re rare enough that Spyderwiki asks if there were any that were actually made in the first three production runs. At least one was!
This knife is only in fair condition. The frame anodizing is clearly worn on the edges and has numerous scratches and other wear marks. The clip also shows many scuffs and scratches.
The blade has a number of “pepper” (corrosion) marks where it appears to have been exposed to salt air (coastal area, perhaps? ATS-34 is rated “stainless”, but it will rust under the right conditions.) There is a discolored area in the serrated section on both sides of the blade; it doesn’t wipe or scrape off. Whoever owned this definitely put it to good use!
The blade is sharp; the plain section did manage to scrape a few hairs from my arm. I’m not sure if it has been resharpened. It opens smoothly, locks solidly, and has no perceptible blade play.
All in all, a very rare version of one of the most collectible of all Spyderco models. It’s not in the best condition, but it’s likely to be one of the few left-hand early C15PS models in existence. (In fact, I couldn’t find one in the sold listings here on eBay!)
