Click images to enlarge Description A Stunning Grande Large Antique French Handcrafted Crocheted Linen Cotton Lace Large Door or Window Curtain / Portiere, circa late 19thC -early 20thC featuring Exquisite detailing throughout and Incredible shaped design-this is really very beautiful and perfect for anywhere in your Vintage French Themed home as a Door Frame or Window curtain.Discovered at a Brocante in the South Paris region of France-at the bottom of an old trunk beneath lots of other bedding including Monogrammed Sheets etc which the Vendor told me had come from a small Chateau in the area-quite believeable when you look at the quality and beauty of this piece!
It is in very good Vintage condition throughout, normally pieces like this are damaged commensurate with age-but this item is seemingly well preserved.There is one small darned area and this has been photographed-it is unseen within the big picture
The Lady whom I purchased it from told me it was very very Old. It may need gentle laundering or dry cleaning if it is your preference but there is no odour-it is very clean.The work involved in creating this masterpiece is mindblowing-it must have taken hours upon hours-especially the Oval Bobbles which adorn the edges.
Totally Unique, totally Stunning it measures approx. 54.00 inches width x 73.00 inches Length dimension Shaped in the Middle to Frame a Window or Door which measures 24 inches depth plus an extra 5 inches fringing which also applies to the lower edges.
