This SS Model is early example somewhere between early 30s and 2nd. world war time or it may have been to 50's . Its a bit confusing when I look at dates of manufacture for example the handle is of Rosewood and these were made fro 30's until wartime 39 but the brass adjusting wheel with the ON and Off printed inside the wheel is said to have been made between 1953 - 64 cap iron is 47. It upper edges on side were left as steel, later model were painted on the edges. I think when they ma...de them they were using parts and some were manufacture later or early then others. Its sets up nicely I took it to a block of Maple with a very low set about 1/64 or less. It glided nice on fine setting. It is in pretty nice condition with just couple darker marks in steel not pitted see photograph. It comes with the handcrafted dovetail pine chest with raised panel for back and nice little keeper that fit inside with the plane. Its a very nice plane in almost like new condition.
