Unfortunately with some clocks it is not a matter of unpacking them, putting the pendulum on and away they go, some clocks will need the extra adjustments and setting into beat so please remember this before bidding. Most clocks will be ok and will not need any additional adjustments but please bear in mind this may not be the case. Any clocks returned because of setting up issues or adjustments needed after transit then a fee will be applicable. This clock is a superb antique German 8 day 1/4 striking musical Westminster chime bracket clock by the well known clock makers Junghans, it has a superb design with its original patinated mahogany case with a stunning colour
Case is constructed from mahogany and is typical of the 1910/20's. The patina to the mahogany is absolutely beautiful and can only be produced over time The clock has a brass glazed front door with thick bevelled edge glass, the door swings easily and has a latch to hold it shut, the back door has a wooden panel and a also has a latch to hold it shut. The case sits elegantly on 4 brass corner matching feet and has a solid brass carry handle on top THE DIAL It has a silvered dial with black Arabic numerals on the silvered chapter ring and original spade hands. The dial is in excellent condition with a beautiful clean finish, to the top of the dial it has 2 sub dials one for the time regulation and the other for the choice of having the musical chimes on or on silent, the dial is protected by its brass glazed door THE MOVEMENT The clock has a 8 day German 1/4 striking Westminster chime movement with a anchor escapement, the movement is in full working order keeping good time and striking the chime as it should as can be seen in the video above, the movement strikes the Westminster chime every 1/4 hour on 4 gong rods then on the hour after the musical chime has finished playing it strikes the amount of hours. The movement is signed on the back plate with the makers stamp of Junghans, the clock comes with its original pendulum and a winding key The mechanism comes with a 6 month return to base warranty for extra piece of mind, please see the terms and conditions below
MEASUREMENTS The clock has superb proportions and measures 16 inches high x 11.5 inches wide x 8.25 Inches deep APPROX DATE Circa 1880's This is a superb investment clock. All our clocks are tested for a minimum of 1 week before listing onto ebay and working condition is clearly stated above
No matter how well antique clocks have been serviced they will need final adjusting and setting into beat after transport and a professional person is advised and may be required in order to do this so please bear this in mind before bidding
If on the rare occasion you receive a clock that has a problem or does not work after initial set up and adjusting by a professional person then we reserve the right for you to return the mechanism for repair by myself
There will be no refunds if the mechanism needs repair. I reserve the right for the mechanism to be returned to me for repair
I offer a 6 months return to base warranty on all my mechanisms (unless stated not working in description)
In case of a problem after a professional has attempted to set the clock up you can return the mechanism back to me for repair
Please do not take the mechanism to a local clock maker/repairer as this will render the warranty void. All repairs needed to the mechanism will be carried out by myself and not by a 3rd party clock maker/repairer unless agreed by myself beforehand. please contact me in the first instance to arrange return of the mechanism for repair by myself
Shipping the mechanism back to me will be at the buyers cost and i will pay to get the mechanism back to you after repair
All repair costs will be met by myself for 6 months after purchase. If a mechanism is faulty after 6 months then i can offer a repair service for a discounted price but this cost will be met by the buyer if after 6 months of purchase
