ITEM: Original snapshot photo of the "Iron Curtain" between West Germany and East Germany, 1985. GDR (East German) guards with AKs are just beyond the fence. Might be Berlin.These photos I am listing were taken by an M1 Abrams tank driver of Company D, 2nd Battalion, 66th Armored Regiment, 2nd Armored Division (Forward), based... in Garlstadt, West Germany in 1985. The unit is easily identified by guidons, vehicle markings, and patches in some of the photos. The general area is identified by road signs in some photos. The 66th Regiment was the oldest armored regiment in the US Army tracing its roots back to WWI. Original photos like these of early M1 Abrams in the field are hard to find.DATE: April 1985 stamped on the back of some of the photos.SIZE: 43.5 x 5"CONDITION: Very Good; Nice Shape; See pictures.
