Offering at no reserve a nice vintage Stanley Bailey No. 5 1/2 Type 8 (?) smooth bottom plane.  It measures about 2 3/4'' by 15'' long.  The blade, with the "Vee" logo from 1910-1919 measures 7 1/2'' long.  The back of the frog is marked 5 1/2, and the lever cap is marked 2 1/4 on the back.  There is a "B" casting mark on the thumb lever.  The leading edge of the lever cap is near perfect.  The rosewood low front knob is about as nice as they come.  T...he rosewood tote is solid with no repairs; it had a chip near the top and was sanded smooth by the previous owner - see the 10th photo.  The previous owner has marks on one of the sides as shown in the 3rd photo.  There is the normal scratching on the sole; the mouth is good.  Please e-mail with any questions.  Shipping will be US priority mail $ 12.50 to the winning bidder.
