I recently found this at an Estate SaleIt is in Excellent Cosmetic Condition, Cleanest as far I as I have seen on eBay without spending $1500 for the same Radio listed in Russia !I installed 6 D Cell batteries / Not Included / to test it Please note that one of the two white plastic tubes that hold the batteries has a hairline crack in it, this crack doe...s not effect the function of the battery tube It has the FM Band split into 2 bands with the 2 buttons on the far rightThe Signal Strength Meter which also doubles as a Battery Meter works fine All six of the band buttons appear to work as designed, all six of them depress fine and when you press a new band, the previously selected band dis - engages as designedThe lights that illuminate the Bands work as followsSW 2-19 is faint, SW 1 is bright, MW does Not Illuminate, LW is bright, FM 1 is bright, FM 2 is bright. The Reception and Sound were great on both of the FM Bands, The Volume, Bass and Treble dials rotate smoothly - The pots sound cleanI could Not get any of the other 4 Bands : SW 2-19, SW 1, M W and L W to work ?The band selector dial on the side of the radio rotates as designedI pulled out the three antennas and they look and mechanically work fine, just couldn't get any stations pulled inThe Radio has it's front cover. It is removable and hinged on the bottom and secured with 2 chrome fasteners at the top.The cover has the Time Dial and World Map on the inside along with a handy pocket to store the included Owners Manual and green Frequency Chart. It can be seen in pictures # 6 , # 7 and # 12 - Picture # 12 shows the radio lying on it's back side so you can see the condition of the bottom. All 4 of the rubber bumper feet look great
The main 110 Volt Power cord had become lost when I bought the RadioI honestly do not know much about shortwave radios or how to tune itBecause of the issues with the Shortwave, MW and LW Reception, The Missing main 110 Volt Power Cord and the cost to ship this beast, I am selling it with the following terms :SOLD AS IS FOR PARTS OR REPAIRSorry No Refunds or returns on this - ThanksI was told that unlike Modern Radios, that these older Sony's can be repairedIt comes with the Optional 12 Volt Power Cord - Part # DCC-2AW that has 4 new fuses in the box.
