PAIR FISHER XP - 7C 12 " SPEAKERS - 4 WAY, 5 DRIVERS - 30 TO 20K HZ - 30 DAY

Offered for sale is a pair of Fisher XP-7C stereo speakers. These are four way speakers that utilizes five drivers. Introduced in 1970, just after Emerson bought out Fisher. Features include: 12" woofer, 5 1/2" lower midrange, 5 1/2" upper midrange, 3" cone tweeter X 2, wood cabinet veneered with real walnut. Made in Fishers modern plant in Milroy, PA.  All the drivers were made for Fisher by CTS, most of the Emerson era Fisher speakers contained CTS drivers. (each) As you can see in the specifications they are quite heavy, weighing 20% to 50% more than most 12" speakers.When I first acquired these speakers I meticulously pulled all five speakers in each cabinet and tested them, all the resistances measured as expected. While I had the speakers out I replaced the four capacitors in each speaker with new ones purchased from Parts Express. Both cabinets had some surface scratches so I sanded them with some 220 grit sandpaper and that removed them. I then applied some fresh medium walnut stain followed by three applications of Watko Danish oil for protection. The cabinets now look very nice, not mint but close to it. The plastic lattice grills are in great condition. Designed to be placed vertically in or horizontally. Tested them and they both sound marvelous.I've sold about seven pair of these XP-7 series speakers in the past five years. I've never had to replace a speaker. Once you remove them and see how heavy and how well they are built you can understand why. Due to their size and weight they will be shipped in separate 55 lb. boxes.
