have for sale vintage Philips AD3800AM 800 ohm OTL Alnico FULL range speakers. The black cone is rare. The speakers sound very nice. They have a warm sound to them. Philips invented the OTL system, basically to omit the output transformer, UGT. This saved production cost. The advantage of OTL is that there is no output transformer, so there is no distortion. Your amplifier needs an 800 ohm output, these speakers will not work for a normal amplifier.
These spe...akers were taken from TV sets. T h e black version is an early version of the AD3800AM. They have different date code. The first number is the week, the second the year.
In this listing I have 2 speakers for sale. These speakers are in good condition. I tested with an ohm meter, and see the results. These speakers will measure 800 ohms @ 1000kHz. The measurements taken was with an multimeter, and then you get around 600 ohms.
There is minimal wear on these speakers. Sometimes you see small tears, or worm holes, these are free of them. The speakers are almost perfect. All the speakers have some corrosion, but that will not affect the sound.
