Testing:Mechanically: I slid the function lever to "ON" and the tonearm lifted and went to vinyl location and lowered. I then switched the speed selector among all four of it's different speeds (16, 33, 45, 78) and it changed speed accordingly on each setting.
Audibly: I am neither ...a vinyl expert nor could I find any vintage records with songs I know the words/music to so I would know what I was hearing and use that to compare to the turntable's sound. All I could find was a 10" 78 RPM from the 40's. So I can only describe it as it plays and if scratchy/toney/whining or anything out of the normal. I can't give an "audiophile" type analysis. Upon playing that record, it sounded like it plays the audio and music good but did have a scratchy sound to it. I would assume that is the low quality original needle/cartridge.

Condition: Dust cover has one chip on the corner and it does have scratches. The platter's stainless top has a couple scratches as you can see in photo #2. The wood looks good all around except for one scratch on the right side of the player. Auxiliary power jack does power up another device when plugged into it. All the mechanicals work and there are no issues there at all. The player does have an odor of cigarettes but that will dissipate over time.
