Available for immediate purchase is a pair (2) of closely matched SYLVANIA manufactured 6F8G (VT-99) twin triode tubes, made in USA. The 6F8G is the pre-cursor to the 6SN7GT, it shares operating characteristics, but uses different connections. Using a readily available adapter, the 6F8G can be used in place of a 6SN7. The Sylvania 6F8G is similar in performance to the early Sylvania 6SN7 tubes, including the highly sought after "Bad Boy" version.The construction of... each tube features the ST shape, Smoked Glass, black opposing 2-Hole T-plates and Dimpled D bottom getters. One tube is branded as Made for Canadian General electric (CGE), the the other tube is branded for Philco. The tube number on the glass envelope is worn, but visible/legible on each tube.The tubes have been tested on my calibrated TV-7 Mutual Conductance Tube Tester, with strong, as new, well balanced and very close readings of 102/99 (CGE) and 98/106 (Philco) where 50/50 is minimum and 80/80 is nominal new. These will be provided with replacement boxes and will be well packed to ensure a safe arrival.I am happy to combine shipping costs where possible.
