Offered for your consideration is a vintage AVID 2 inch dome midrange driver removed from my Model 232 speakers, USA-manufactured c.1981. This heavy magnet midrange was also used in the top-of-the-line Model 330 and possibly other AVID speakers from this era. So, please have a look at my large photos, the measurements, and read the remaining description to decide if this superb mid-frequency driver is correct for your needs. *Although the listing is written in singular to avoid any c...onfusion, two (2) AVID 2” dome midrange drivers are available at time of this writing. Please choose if you’d like to buy one or both in the quantity field at the top of the listing. The shipping cost will be automatically calculated by eBay checkout. This AVID midrange is in clean, excellent condition. It has a structurally perfect soft dome with no dents or dimples whatsoever. Plus, the sturdy black plastic faceplate looks great with no cracks or scratches and there’s no undue oxidation on the magnet. And, the +/- terminals are marked for polarity (red dot side is positive) and the spades have never been soldered. This nearly 40 year-old midrange driver is exceptionally well-preserved. Most importantly, it’s been fully tested and sounds great—very strong and clear with fast, detailed mid-frequency output extending deep into treble (it’s used from 500 Hz to 6kHz in the Model 330)! Plus, I tested the DC resistance at 7.4-7.6Ω consistent with a nominal 8 ohm driver rating. Lastly, the faceplate measures 4 15/16” square (5 15/16” from the truncated corners), it stands 1 15/16” tall, and the mounting holes are spaced 3¾” / about 5⅜” on the diagonal apart, c-t-c. This is a nice find if your AVID Model 330 or 232 has a blown or damaged 2” dome midrange and will have your speakers sounding their best again in no time! Long discontinued, it’s a great spare to have around just in case. So, as pictured and described, this exceptional AVID 2” dome midrange is offered at a competitive price.
