Upfor sale here is this Sansui F-2546 power supply board rebuild set. This includes all the parts you need to rebuild an F-2546 power supply board for a Sansui 8080, 9090, 890, or 990. This is not for the Sansui 8080DB or 9090DB, but that kit will be available soon.
Over time the power supply boards start developing issues with the capacitors, diodes, and transistors, and often the old parts are weak and failing. We will make them new again! This kit includes... enough parts to replace all the electrolytic capacitors (including the four bipolar caps underneath), all the diodes (including the zener diode), and all the transistors. It also includes two fuses and four fuseholder clips to perform the recommended service bulletin.
These are all high-quality brand new genuine parts. The capacitors are all Nichicon PW, Nichicon EP bipolar, and Panasonic FC caps at the correct uf and the same or higher voltage ratings, and the transistors are the correct Fairchild/Onsemi subs for the original transistors. These are not cheap Made in China parts, they are extremely high-quality and they are what I use when I rebuild Sansui gear. Just replacing the capacitors is a waste of time--you need to replace the transistors as well, and it's worth doing the service bulletin and replacing the diodes as well, which is why this kit covers all that.
I will include a surprisingly well-written instruction sheet, but this is a fairly complicated and delicate rebuild, and you should know what you're doing and have a decent soldering iron and a dim-bulb tester. The instructions will also explain the 8080/9090 service bulletin and the "light mod" that keeps the tuning dial lit no matter which source is selected.
This kit may not fix your Sansui if it has other issues, but it will definitely help it run better, and should fix almost any power supply board problems. Please see my pictures for details.
