Here's an unusual little STERLING SILVER ring pen from EDWARD TODD & CO., N.Y... brother of Mabie Todd and probably from about the early '20's . The pen is 4-1/16" long and has a number of flaws.. It is similarly decorated on the cap and barrel with longitudinal lining in panels and with a monogram box on the barrel. It appears to be an eye-dropper filled pen with a more modern section that screws off, but looks like it sho...uld have a sac attached to it. Cap is also the screw-on type usually not seen on ED pens. There are a number of dents mostly clustered on the cap. Most are small, but a couple are pretty significant. Several are in the area of the breather.... a single breather with an unusually large 3/16" diameter hole. It looks like the inner cap shell is only long enough the reach about half way across the breather. The breather hole looks very smooth edged and I'm not sure if it was enlarged or not and if so, why. Marked STERLING on both the base of the cap and the top of the barrel. No monogram in the box. The 14kt EDWARD TODD & CO., N.Y., 2 nib is cracked from the heart shaped breather to the 2 in the imprint. The green box is marked THE TODD FOUNTAIN PEN, EDWARD TODD & CO., N.Y. U.S.A.
