I am not sure what this Rare tool was used for but I believe that it was used to cut grooves in a piece of wood on a lathe.The hook would have been used as a guide as the cutter was slid forward in the frame.It would have cut repetitive size grooves in the piece being turned.It measures 20-3/4" long and the hook opening measures 3-1/4". < NO RESERVE >
